Meet Rika Ohara DDS, MSD
Dr. Ohara is a board-certified periodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry. Her dedication to both academic excellence and patient care led to her induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society.
Driven by a passion for treating patients with periodontal (gum) disease, Dr. Ohara pursued advanced specialty training in periodontics and implantology at the University of Washington, where she also earned a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD). During her residency, she developed expertise in a full range of periodontal procedures, including periodontal plastic surgery, regenerative therapy, dental implant therapy, bone augmentation, and sinus lift bone grafting.
Dr. Ohara is proud to serve as an Affiliate Faculty member at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where she remains actively involved in teaching and contributing to the academic community.
She is also an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration, which allows her to stay current with the latest research, techniques, and advancements in periodontal care.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Ohara enjoys cooking, hiking, and traveling with her husband and their two energetic sons as they explore new places together.
