Our office restarted with the new name, Professional Perio Partners, in August 2022. All office members and systems stay consistent. Our office is specialized in periodontics and implants and is located in Evergreen Professional Plaza in Kirkland, Washington. Our periodontist's, Dr. Katafuchi and Dr. Ohara, and our team, Cheryl, Tessa, Hikari, Grayson, and Tomoko, strive to provide compassionate care for you and to collaborate to work with your primary dentist and other specialists.
What is a periodontist? A periodontist is a dentist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease (a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the gums and bone supporting the teeth also known as gum disease), and in the placement of dental implants. It is one of the twelve dental specialties recognized by the National Commission. Dr. Katafuchi and Dr. Ohara are our periodontists specialized in periodontics and implants.
When do you see a periodontist? Periodontal disease (chronic periodontitis) sometimes progresses rapidly. If you have periodontal disease, you may receive a referral from your dentist. We assess the severity of the disease and provide non-surgical and surgical treatment for periodontal disease. If you are missing your teeth or have teeth to be extracted, we provide dental implant treatment to replace your teeth. Also, you may see us for addressing gum recession since we are specialized in gum grafting. You may see us before your orthodontic treatment. You may consider our office as an extension of your dentist’s care.
